Jack Vettriano Artist Biography

Jack Vettriano was born in Fife in 1951, and has gone from working in Scotland's coalfields to being one of the world's best-loved painters. Entirely self taught, Jack's work was first revealed to the public in 1988 at an open exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy. Since then he has exhibited his art all over the world with sell-out shows in New York, Hong Kong, London and Edinburgh. Jack Vettriano's timeless paintings are like scenes from a movie, and in fact he is strongly influenced by Film Noir and novels. However, he leaves the viewer to come up with their own tale.
