Max Malandrino prints
Max Malandrino is a photographic artist based in the United Kingdom. A graduate of Winchester School of Art, Max's career started in 2000 when he launched his first range of limited edition prints.
Max’s ongoing photographic project titled 'Back By Public Demand' is a collection of images which focus on the crude, sometimes brash, man made forms which populate the urban landscape.
These suggestive billboards, dysfunctional graphic shapes and vivid artificial lights punctuate the landscape with a palette that includes peepshow red, liquor ultra white and muscle car blue.
Max's aims when working are to focus the viewers attention on artificial shapes, light, colour and space. Humour or irony plays an important part of the construction of his images. Each image is individually titled to convey a suggestive narrative or meaning.
The images and titles reference popular and pulp film and music culture. This is a fundamental part of his working process.
Max's photographic artwork is available in many shops and art galleries around the U.K.,Europe, Japan and USA. He has an extensive range of private and corporate collectors from around the world and his work has been exhibited in many group and solo art exhibitions over the last 8 years.
He updates his portfolio with a new collection of images every four months and his most recent collection of images were photographed while on assignment in New York.
There are now approximately 700 original images to choose from.
In 2004 a selection of his images were used for a nationwide Selfridges advertising campaign titled L.A. Denim which was a West Coast Americana themed clothing launch.
Max's Dice image 'Hard 8' has been selected by Time Out for use on the Las Vegas City Guide cover.
His recent commissions include: Day Dream Magazine, Time Out Los Angeles City Guide, The Sea Cow Restaurant, Artscape Publishing, Granger Hertzog, Sound Art UK, Talk Back Thames Television and Urban Outfitters USA.
