Environmental Policy

At The Fine Art Company we do everything possible to ensure that our business does not have a negative impact on the environment. We know that environmental issues are becoming increasing important to our customers (and because we're proud of our efforts!) we've put together a bit of information about the origins of our products, and the way we run our business.

About Our Packaging:

Firstly, all our art packaging is made from recycled materials. We receive many packages from our suppliers (most of whom also buy only recycled materials), and all this cardboard packaging is reused either by us, or by our sister internet companies www.fishandfins.co.uk and www.designerplanters.com. Hopefully our customers can also find a use for their empty packaging, or at least find a cardboard recycling bin. Anything unusable is recycled or composted, along with all scrap office paper.

About Our Frames:

The wood for our high quality picture frames comes from a carefully managed ash plantation. These plantations are privately owned and have been managed by the same families for generations, providing a truly sustainable source!

Why No Metal Frames?

You will notice that, unlike our competitors, we do not offer much in the way of metal frames. This is because most metal pictures frames are made of aluminium which to produce from scratch is the source of some rather nasty pollution. However, we do offer very attractive metallic foils and finishes on some of our wooden frames, and we hope to bring you more kindly metal frames in the near future!

Any Suggestions?

At the Fine Art Company we always welcome feedback from our customers, so if you have any questions or concerns about our products, or have any suggestions as to how we could make our company greener, then don't hesitate to drop us a line.
